Community Church
Evans, GA
Journey Community Church in Evans, Georgia was a design-build project for a new 8,646 square foot atrium and a 10,304 square foot renovation to the children's ministry building. During the design-build process, we completed several cost estimates to determine the final building size and to keep the design within the client's budget. The renovation portion of this project took place in an existing administrative building where church employees continued to work throughout construction. We were careful to cause the least amount of disruption as possible by moving the children's ministry to temporary modular units. The 2 story renovation consisted of 15 classrooms and a game room, new flooring, mill work and Jack and Jill bathrooms. An elevator was added to the building and a new staircase was built that features a custom paint job. The new atrium addition and children's ministry renovation is phase 1 of a 2 phase plan. The pre-engineered building is designed with Phase 2 footings incorporated into the slab. The open concept interior features stacked stone and barn wood accent walls, a prayer wall made from storefront frames and glass, 2 brightly colored hanging clouds for lights and speakers and a stained concrete floor. Two large bathrooms, a kitchen, and a servery are also located in the new atrium.
