Scott is passionate and excited about building and all that it entails. He entered the field as a Commercial Steel Erection Operator. By 2001, Scott became a Residential Building Superintendent and worked in Orlando, Florida for nearly a decade. He continued to build in Georgia and Alabama and maintained a focus on residential building while still completing some commercial projects. In 2023, Scott made the exciting decision to focus on the commercial side of construction and came onboard with Clifton Construction. Scott prioritizes safety and quality, which makes him the perfect fit for our team. Scott and his wife Julie have been married for over 17 years and reside in the Grovetown area.

Steve Clifton is grounded in a passion for construction and building. He leads with Christian principles, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to client satisfaction. Beyond business, Augusta, Georgia, is home for him and his wife, Molly.

Educational Background

Steve holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Building Construction from Auburn University. This foundational education has guided his professional journey.

Professional Experience

Steve began his career at Construction Management Services in Hilton Head, South Carolina, initially working in estimating and purchasing. Recognized for his abilities, he quickly rose to the position of Superintendent, overseeing subcontractors and material suppliers. He then moved to Austin Construction and Development Company, where he climbed the ranks from Superintendent to Project Manager and eventually to Vice President of the Commercial Construction Division. Here, he managed projects ranging from renovations to new constructions, in both residential and commercial sectors. During his tenure, the company’s annual volume grew to over $16 million.

Key Achievements

Steve took a leap of faith in June 1986 to start his own construction business in Augusta, Georgia. Building on Christian principles, integrity, and hard work, he has sustained and grown his business for over 20 years, largely through client referrals.
