Jonathan brings to S.D. Clifton over 30 years of experience with 25 of that in accounting/finance and the remainder in marketing. Having spent his entire career either reporting directly to or being part of senior management, he has become a very valuable asset in the decision making processes. Prior to coming to S.D. Clifton he held the position of Manufacturing Controller for E-Z-Go cars for 8 years. He has also worked in the treated wood, textile, retail and electronics industries. Jonathan earned his MBA from Augusta University and graduated with honors and a 4.0 gpa. The Hull College of Business awarded him the Beta Gamma Sigma award for his work in business and the university awarded him the prestigious Phi Kappa Phi award. Jonathan grew up in Augusta and is married to Sydney, a lovely farm girl from Moultrie, Ga. They have one dog, Frito, who is one heck of a rascal. Jonathan started with SD Clifton in 2006.

Educational Background

Steve holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Building Construction from Auburn University. This foundational education has guided his professional journey.

Professional Experience

Steve began his career at Construction Management Services in Hilton Head, South Carolina, initially working in estimating and purchasing. Recognized for his abilities, he quickly rose to the position of Superintendent, overseeing subcontractors and material suppliers. He then moved to Austin Construction and Development Company, where he climbed the ranks from Superintendent to Project Manager and eventually to Vice President of the Commercial Construction Division. Here, he managed projects ranging from renovations to new constructions, in both residential and commercial sectors. During his tenure, the company’s annual volume grew to over $16 million.

Key Achievements

Steve took a leap of faith in June 1986 to start his own construction business in Augusta, Georgia. Building on Christian principles, integrity, and hard work, he has sustained and grown his business for over 20 years, largely through client referrals.
